Our Mission
Frank Calandra Jr. Foundation was established to support innovation in diabetes prevention, treatment, and outcomes. Founded by his family, the Foundation honors the memory of their beloved patriarch, Frank Calandra Jr., who championed the fight against chronic diabetes until his death from disease complications in 2022.

Since 2022, the Frank Calandra Jr. Foundation has collaborated with institutions, researchers, and clinicians who share our passion for promoting health and combatting disease. The Foundation works closely with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC to fund clinical care, education, and research in the field of endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.
